School trip!!

Boy has won a contest at school. He has the highest marks all year in the 5th grade. For his reward he is able to ……get this…..bring his pet to school. That’s me! I have spent most of the morning getting ready. I have on my School Supplies Classy Collar, which everyone is sure to admire. 


At breakfast, there is whining from Girl and Little Girl that they don’t get a chance to bring me to school. Boy says with a sly grin on his face, “If you got the highest grades in your class, you could bring Jax to school too.” Then there is a 10 minute walk to school. After we arrive, we make our way to Boy’s classroom amid shocked stares and little girls trying in vain to pet me. Easy girls….you’ll all get a chance. 


Finally in Homeroom, boy must give a short speech about me. “My dog’s name is Jax, She is 6 years old. She is a great friend to my sisters and me. (as I blush a little) She is a German Shepherd and she protects our family very well. We go on many adventures together” As the class applauds, I can’t help but feel humbled that I belong to such a great family that takes good care of me and affords me every opportunity to have fun and go on great adventures. …..Peace out Pups!
