![]() Jax here! Today is another scorcher - going to be 92 in the shade and I'm in my favorite spot on top of the air vent. The vent is blowing my fur all around and I'm in heaven. Suddenly, it sounds like a herd of wild animals is thundering across the backyard. I check it out through my door, and ring my bell to tell the family I need to go investigate. Girl lets me out with a pat on the head. I look around, don't see anything, but I can hear it... under the deck? I creep under to my favorite cool spot and see hooves whizzing by on the other side! I slid over to the other side under the deck and look out to see a vast plain! Horses and cows are thundering by and there are a few riders directing them with a "Whoa there!" or a "Hurry up!". I run out carefully and one of the riders sees me. I'm wearing my purple bandana Classy Collar, so I blend in, as he is wearing a red one! He yells at me to go round up a few straying cattle and I try, finding it natural to try herd them together. How fun! I race around and get them all together, feeling accomplished, tapping into some ancient need to herd or something... After a few miles, the riders direct the cattle to stop at a nice watering hole. I drink deeply, enjoying the sun and the water and the run. but I best get back. I bark to let them know I'm leaving and run back to the overhang where I find my deck entrance. Sliding back under the deck leaves me back in my yard, and I'm happy to be let back in to sit on my air vent again. Boy comes by and pats me, just to laugh at the dust clouds that come off my back. "Time to brush you, Jax", he says and off we go. Peace out, Pups!
